For the Cultural Mosaic project, I taught 20 fiber art workshops to Turkish & Ukrainian immigrant support groups in Pittsburgh. I assisted the artists with two successful exhibitions and sales: Cultural Mosaic at the Main Branch of the Carnegie Library in October, 2023 &  Common Threads at Studio Forget Me Not in Carnegie, PA in November, 2023. The project was coordinated by the Outreach Committee of the Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburgh, through a long standing partnership with JFCS Immigrant & Refugee Services , an immigrant resettlement agency. 

 

Cultural Mosaic was completed in partnership with the Rivers of Steel Heritage Area. Funding was provided in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, Heritage Area Program Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, administered by the Rivers of Steel Heritage Corp.
