Connection is at the root of my work. I make art to connect with myself and the world around me. I'm a mixed media artist using fiber art, illustration and collage in both community projects and my own personal work.

As an artist working in the public realm, I have facilitated collaborative fiber art projects during  residencies at The Falk Laboratory School, The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and with immigrants from the Turkish and Ukrainian communities in Pittsburgh.

Another focus of mine has been large scale portrait projects. In Drawn Together, artist Suzanne Werder and I drew each other every day during January, 2022. During a residency at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, I drew portraits  and interviewed people on Penn Avenue and did the same with passengers at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

My personal work tells my own story, combining autobiography, fiber art, comics, illustration, collage and the written word. 

 

I am a member of the Pittsburgh Creative Corps, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh and Group A.
